On December 11, 2007
the Smithfield Police Department celebrated the opening of the
Department's new Community Police Office. Located in The Crossing
at Smithfield,
371 Putnam Pike (behind Dick's Sporting Goods) the 600 square foot
office serves the same purposes as the former office at Apple Valley
Mall.

Development, owners of the The Crossing at Smithfield. Read their

The Department holds many types of
activities here including training and several of the Community Police
programs. The office also serves as the
Community Police Division office and as an auxiliary office to the
Department where officers on shift can stop by to write a report or make
a phone call.
