In an effort to make accurate collision information available to motorists in a timely manner, and as a service to our residents and the business community, the Smithfield Police Department announces a new partnership with GetCrashReports.com to provide optional, online access to crash reports completed by the Smithfield Police Department. In most cases, crash reports will be available 72 hours after the report was taken, with the exception of crashes that remain under investigation (which cannot be released until the investigation is completed) and fatal traffic collisions (which must be purchased at the Smithfield Police Department).

The Smithfield Police Department encourages motorists, businesses, insurance agencies, engineering firms, etc., to utilize GetCrashReports.com to access collision reports. However, collision reports can still be accessed at police headquarters through the Records Division, which is open Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. more information on obtaining police reports
